Just moved out here and our house had a coop in the back yard. So..... We filled it. Trial and error...we ended up with one Rhode Island Red, one light brahma and an ameraucana rooster that won't shut up. Recently we acquired 5 lyorcas. They were penned up in a barn stall and now free range all day. But they stopped laying! Diet change? Reading all of your posts is very helpful! We have 13 chicks that are about 3 weeks old. Barnevelders, silkies, orpingtons and my favorite......bare necked chickens! Photos to come! They look like little vultures! Hehe

Chickens HATE change. The stress of moving to a new environment has temporarily stopped your new hens from laying. Shortly they will resume production - welcome to BYC.
