Hi,
I am a grade one teacher. Every year a co teacher and I hatch chicks in an incubator in my classroom. We have a local farm that that gives us the eggs and then the chicks go back to the farm when they are about 3 or 4 weeks old. Our students love it and of course I do too. So this year I had to take the incubator home with me when schools closed down. Considering everything (I normally would never unplug and move my incubator) the hatch went really well. I currently have 12 baby chicks in a brooder in my family room! I have been reading the posts on this site for help and information for about two years now off and on. I joined and made my first post because I think one of my little chicks may have splayed leg or a slipped tendon and was hoping to get some advice. (I made a post about that under injuries.) I am hoping to one day have chickens of my own:) Thanks for adding me!

Hope you find the help you need for the little one. What breed of chicks did you hatch? Pictures are always nice, if you'd care to share :)

Thanks for the reply :) I've attached a picture of all twelve in my brooder. I usually only have about six in there. I've also attached a picture of the little one who is having trouble with his leg. Embarrassed to say I'm not sure what breed they are... probably hard to tell when they are still so little. Any idea?
