Hi Everyone-
I don't have chickens yet, but I've convinced the hubby they're a reasonable investment and that's 3/4 of the battle! Now I need to:
1) find out about zoning inside Belton city limits for egg layers only (well, possibly meat birds as well, but NO roosters)
2) meet some others who are in Belton, Raymore, or Grandview
3) build a coop and chicken yard
4) buy chicks!
I'm a complete newbie at this. I've got family that are farmers so I'm going to be calling them for help and going up for a visit when my cousin 'dresses chickens' next to see if I've got that part of it in me. Otherwise, I'll be happy with just having a few layers.
Any thoughts or knowledge about local zoning would be helpful...I'm having trouble finding answers.
Thanks!
