Well, currently I'm bird-less -but hoping to get chicks soon. I need to settle on a coop design - and get the hubby to start making it -before I get chicks. I'm thinking about 5, and if any turn out to be roos my brother will take them. While the neighbors are friendly, I think having a roo or 2 would be pushing my luck! AND I need to get my permit for Bethel; I was able to contact the town at least and find out what the zoning rules are for chickens so I'm good there

I think it's cool that you're investigating and joining the forum before you have the chicks! I'm crossing my fingers that your neighbors will continue to be friendly once you have chickens. lol

from Ohio. So glad you joined. When you settle on your coop design, make sure the DH uses screws instead of nails to put it together. Our coops tend to need changing around once the chicken math takes over.

4-H, glad you mentioned screws, won't be too long before I'm building a coop and that sure would save some headaches later I'm sure!
