Hey everyone,

I've been lurking here for months but as usual I couldn't keep my mouth shut so I decided I best register and introduce myself. My beloved and I live in DallasTexas but we recently bought some acreage out in the country, Blue Ridge. We are currently only out here on the weekends so I can't have chickens yet but I'm putting the full court press on hubs to move. Realistically speaking it won't be for a year or two since his commute would be horrific from here.

Sooooo, in the mean time, I'm lurking, learning and dreaming about my future chicken coop. Learning about layers and meat birds, pests, coops, hatching and everything else. Not sure what chicken math is yet but I have a sneaking suspicion it has to do with starting out with a couple of birds and then letting OCD take over and winding up with a flock. I'm very honest with myself about my OCD so I know anything I get involved in I will do full speed ahead from the beginning. :)

I look forward to learning from everyone here, it has been a great place so far!

! Pleased you joined our community! OCD isn't a bad thing when it comes to to preparing for chickens - there is a lot to learn and by the time you get them all your prep will have paid off!! Good luck to you and have fun!

well if you eventually got bantams they count as only 1/3 or 1/2 of a regular chicken. You could easily have twice as many and it would seem like you hardly had any at all.

Welcome to BYC
