Hello from Brisbane

Hi all. We are buying baby chicks tomorrow. Very excited. My biggest concerns are protecting them from our spaniel and the snake population in the area. I'm also keen to get a couple of silkies or bantams and a couple of chooks with larger egg laying potential. Not sure whether different breeds are able to get along. Will have a good read of the forums as I'm sure my question has probably already been asked. Look forward to getting to know you all.

Nice to see a fellow Aussie!! I am an hour out of Canberra and just got my chooks yesterday! Keeping the dogs out of the chook yard is a main worry for me as well.
