Hello from Carthage, Missouri

Hi, I'm Paula from Missouri, this is my first year at raising pullets for laying...mine were 5 weeks old Saturday the 29th. I have 6 black sex links and 2 barred rocks. One of my sex links started rolling over and ruffling her feathers last night, and looks to be having trouble walking. Is this the curled toes thing I've been hearing about?

Glad to have you here! I hope you find everything you need to know and good luck with your chickens! That might be curled toe. I haven't had that problem, but check the chicken emergencies forum!

great to have you joining the BYC flock

Well my first thing is what are you feeding your baby's as they need a high protean base feed like Turkey feed of 20% or better

BYC has a very nice and useful learning center

Check out you chicks feet for any problems and a photo or two would
also help us help you too

Thanks Duckopolis and Gander007, I think I may have jumped the gun so to speak, she seems to be fine now, she's eating well, (21% protein feed), and is sleeping with the rest of them right now

I have ben thinking about it and a hard boiled egg peeled and mashed for 10 chicks up to 3 weeks of age for 3 days straight should help build up any muscles and straighten out the health of your chicks

My chick is doing great today--YAY!! She must have been just stretching and rolling around last night...she's normal as ever today
I think I'm just an overprotective mom! Lol
