I've had chickens since January of last year(not very long). Currently, I own nine chickens. I'm pretty sure all of them would be mongrels. I have an adult hen and her two babies(not babies but not quite adults), two cockerels(they're bigger than their mom now. Maybe about adults?), and four chicks. The hen and her kids have no names, but the cockerels are named Cheep and Peep. Only one of the four babies has a name, and it's Pancake(they're the reasoning behind my username)! I like to watch them through our living room window when I'm not already outside with them, and I love to raise and hold the cute babies.

I hope to log down my chicken adventures and be able to interact with other people, along with asking questions and improving as an owner. I've been lurking on this site for a while, but I haven't decided to make an account until recently. I'll be moving to Africa around June 2020 and sometime after that, I hope to go to NY state. You can order chickens from there, I'm pretty sure(I've even constructed a chicken breed wishlist. Oops).

Un-chicken related, I have a dog and two cats. The cats are Maine Coons and are six years old. Their names are Edward(also sometimes spelled Eduard) and Esperanza(also alternatively spelled Speranta, though that spelling is never used by the household). The puppy is six months old and her name is Elfriede. I like to draw, read, and play videogames.

Hello, and Welcome from Southeast Missouri! Where in Central America do you live? What an exciting life to be moving to Africa then to the US! Is your family military, perhaps? Enjoy your time with us, and post pics of your chickens if you can; we love pics!

Welcome to BYC! I hope you enjoy your time here. Do you have plans for your fowl with all of these moves? Not being judgey just being prior military a move was always 2-3 years away anytime I arrived in a new place. The cats and dogs were the only pets we owned but getting them passports and keeping them properly vetted was a mission itself for some countries.:frow

Lucky and Allenk- I live in Nicaragua! My family isn't military, but it's moving is pretty similar. My mother and I devised plans for who was getting our chickens once we moved. I do wish we could bring our chickens with us, but the paperwork and the time invested would probably be a nightmare!

:frow Welcome to our FUN-omenal Community! :ya
Best wishes and have lots of FUN! :wee
