Hello BYC community !
I am a complete newbie to raising birds. I decided to try my hand at raising quail since I live the the "suburbs" of sorts and the county does not allow the raising of chickens or other poultry. Figured quail are smaller and more quiet which makes them easier to "hide". So far so good !
I am totally enjoying their personalities and their eggs ! I have 6 hens and 2 roos (Coturnix). I wanted to raise them on organic, non-GMO feed but it isn't available locally, I'll have to order it online in the future. Also starting a mealworm farm to supplement their feed. Raising them for meat and eggs for myself and my dogs ( they eat a Raw diet).
Thank you and I look forward to learning more about these great little birds !
