Thanks for all the advice. We already have a red heat lamp, but since it was bright and sunny on the back porch, the color of the heat lamp was drowned out. I gave the little girl a bath in warm watter to get the blood off then dried her off with a hair dryer.
I think she actually enjoyed it! Then I put some neosporin on the spots that had been pecked at. We'll get some blue-kote the next time we go into town. It sounds a lot like gentian violet.
Howdy from eastern central Texas! Do you know what breed of chickens you bought? I know at Tractor Supply they sell a lot of Cornish Rock crosses for meat. The little sick one is all white, so I was wondering if it's one of those?
