Hello from Central Texas!

Hello everyone! I am a new chicken mom and already have the bug. My husband considers me crazy right now although he did help me build the chicken coop.

I currently have 2 pairs of White Black-Tailed Japanese Bantams, 1 Americauna roo, 1 Barred Rock hen and 12 New Hampshire Red/White cross chicks...which are approximately 8 weeks old.

They aren't free ranging just yet, as I just started in February. I heard that they needed to be cooped for a little while so that they knew where to come home to for roosting and feed. However, once the containment stage is up, they will be free to do as they please. I have 10 wooded acres for them to roam on. Plenty of goodies

Anyway, just popped in to say hi and hope to become a regular poster.

Yes, they will be very lucky chickens.

I have also taken up the job of getting rid of any critters that will be harmful to my little fuzzy butts. Coons don't stand a chance when the hubby sits out at dark waiting for them at the coop.
