Hello from Central Texas

Hi y'all,

I am brand new to raising chickens and I am looking forward to learning new info and sharing it with others. I have been reading the forum here for a couple of months and finally took the plunge. I currently do not have any chickens. I am in the process of building my coop and run. I will be solving the no chicken problem very soon! While I am waiting I am practicing my chicken math.

Welcome to the forum. That's great that you have started on the coop and run. It can take quite a while to build them, especially in the heat this summer. Sounds like you are dreaming of all the wonderful breeds you could have. I think you will LOVE having chickens.

I have been busy for the last couple weekends building a 3000 sqft cage for our garden. I think I will complete the cage in a couple more weekends and then.... I get to build my coop I am using a fast farmer kit as the base so it should move pretty fast.
