Hi all. I am Bob. I just found this site this evening. Looks like tons of great information.
I just recently got into raising chickens. I have 12 RIRs that I picked up at the post office 9 days ago. I guess that I got a little over eager. When the website guaranteed "all orders will ship in 2-4 weeks, I thought I had a little time. Nope! An hour after ordering, I got an email saying that my order would ship the next day. Not only did I not have a coop or brooder, I had not informed my wife that we were even getting chickens.
The chicks are coming along really nice at the moment. It is amazing how fast they grow. The problem right now is that we have had more snow this winter than the last 10 winters combined. I really need to get a coop built. Looking around the net for plans and tips is how I found this site.
I may or may not post a lot, but I am sure to read a lot.
