Welcome to the BYC flock! We are glad you joined us!
I have really enjoyed by Buff Orpingtons. Super friendly, docile, easy-going, good layers, and pretty to look at. Our Barred Rocks have also been a favorite of my children. They are very friendly when it comes to people, though they do tend to dominate the other birds. I also have Black Australorps, as the others have mentioned, but I have not been as impressed with them. Mine have been more timid and flighty in comparison to the other breeds I have. They also seem to take much longer when it comes to molting. However, my Australorp crosses have ended up being some of my favorite birds and best broody hens.
