Hello from chick newbies!

Thanks everyone.
@gander007 And in the water is just plain water but I have been giving them some hard boiled eggs on the side. There was no apparent reason for the ones death, no marks no where, and it was one of the biggest chicks.

But thanks everyone for the advise.

Also we have learned our lesson with my dog. We keep her away.

Things to think about to add to the water ....

Apple Cider Vinegar I give this to all my poultry about once every couple of weeks and a bottle will last me for several weeks and I have about 60 birds ..

This is some of the birds at feeding time ....

Probiotic , you can get this at any feed store and three packs all hooked together and should last about a week great for chicks and one bag makes one gallon ..... great stuff ....

Save-A-Chick only need to add to water one time as chicks great stuff .....

Electrolyte ,,, Also good stuff again comes in a set of three pack and I use this on my big chickens also .....

Using the egg already good call and dose them a world of wonders .....

@gander007 thank you so much for all your help! I will definitely look into all of that!! I did hear apple cider vinegar helps with pasty butt, is there any other benefits??

Apple Cider Vinegar was considered a medicine over 2,000 years ago and it is great for keeping the insides cleaned out as it will detox the body and original for humans ...

I like the way it makes the feathers shine if I rub a little on the feathers and no this is not a joke ..

If you look up ACV on the internet there is a long list of trends to read about it ....

Sorry to hear about your losses. There is a few good uses for ACV (apple cider vinegar) in chickens and yes, it definitely helps with pasty butt. I used to have problems with that in my chicks. If you want to read more about that and dogs around chickens and other topics that may interest you, use the Advanced Search here to help you find discussions. I call it "choogle" (chicken google) as it's like google for chicken related topics. Enjoy the site!
