I'm brand new to raising chickens. My kids and I are in the planning phase right now. We're almost ready to create the coop and run. I'm hoping to start with just 2-3 chicks, though I'm having trouble finding where to buy such a small number!

I love the idea of caring for the birds and watching them grow, and we're all excited about fresh eggs. I've heard chickens can be rather fascinating to watch, so I really think they'll be a fun addition to our family.

I live with my husband and two kids in Cincinnati, Ohio :)

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
If you wait until after April 1, Meyer Hatchery has a 3 chick minimum on their orders. Or you can pick some up at your local Tractor Supply or farm store.
Right, and you could literally drive to Meyer Hatchery and save the shipping charges, since they're also located in Ohio.
