I am a little sad writing this. A few hours ago I was the proud "mama" to 3 ducks and 6 chickens but one of my babies just died about an hour after the dog caught her this evening. So, I now have 3 ducks- 1 runner and 2 Welsh Harlequins(4-5 weeks old), one 5 week old little black bantam (?) and 4 that I'm not sure of (probably 8-9 weeks old)....kind of thinking 3 are males....I will add pictures on another post to see if anyone can help me figure this out.
So far, I STILL don't have my coop built but am hoping I will have something finished by tomorrow afternoon. We have 20 acres they can free range on though they stay fairly close to the house when not in their cages.
I've been reading posts since I decided to have chickens. I got some from a hatching in my preschool class. I look forward to learning more from the much more experienced chicken/duck owners.
