Hi everyone,
I currently have a VERY HANDSOME Cinammon Queen Rooster (OK, I thought he was a cinnamon queen, but after a bit more Googling, he is even prettier than the queens. I will post some pics as soon as I can - I have to reduce the image size. It appears he might be an easter egger). His name is Mesmer and I've had him since he was a bout 6 days old (he was hand hatched this June). He is very friendly and likes to be held and sit on peoples' laps, especially children. He is golden-yellow with long black tail feathers and big neck ruff. He makes a funny little noise after he cock-a-doodles ("eerrrgh"). At six months of age, he already weighed over 6 pounds. Everyone who sees him comments on how big he is.
I also have one black cochin hen (hatched later this summer) - her name is Maeve. And one Brahma hen, about 8 months old. Rosie is her name. So far I have gotten about a dozen eggs out of Rosie.
Right now they all stay in my garage since my chicken coop is not insulated. I was very glad to find the "you might be a crazy chicken lady if..." posts because now I know it is not just me! Mesmer loves to ride around with me and visit with people. He knows how handsome he is! Although he is not friendly towards dogs and some people (has been known to attack!).
Well I look forward to hearing from people, especially anyone who might have an idea what Mesmer is. If you send me a message I can email pictures. Oh, and I live in Wheat Ridge, just west of Denver.
Alyssa
