Hi everyone, I am in Dallas, well, on the boarder with Seagoville. We have had our 6 chickens now for a year and a half. Out of the 6, I have one broody buff orpington and have decided to get her some fertile eggs, since this is the 2nd time is a month that she has gone broody. I really don't want to order them online though, does anyone know where I could get some locally to pick up?

Thanks
Beckie

HI Beckie! Welcome to BYC!!!

Looks like you are out my way, I am just south on I-45 there, and head toward Scurry.
There are lots of us in Texas, so feel free to join us anytime you feel like posting. There is so much great information on here. Even though I have been raising chickens since 1976, I have learned so much and improved my chicken-raising skills in areas I never knew I needed them.

As to eggs, lots of folks around have them and it won't be long until you find some right by you probably!
What kind of eggs are you interested in getting?

Also, be sure to check out the Broody Hen thread here on BYC!

Thank you Texas4T for the warm welcome
As far as what kind of eggs I am looking for, at this point any chicken eggs will do. What I would like would be some easter eggers, Americaunas, Silky, Frizzle and barred rocks. So if anyone out there reading this has any of these and you are somewhat close to me, please let me know, I would be happy to pick up after work tonight or tomorrow.

NoAcres, I sent you a private message. I love raising EEs and have two EE roos.
This is Riley, my almost three year old roo:
He is not rumpless! He would have a full tail, but he was attacked by RIRs when he was a chick.

Here is one of Riley's chicks from this year:

I will go take some more photos and post them if I can get the chicks to cooperate! They are older now, and more interested in treats than sitting for pictures!

He is sooo pretty, I would love to have some of those eggs, pretty, pretty please
