I am so sorry about your Henrietta. I hope your heart can heal soon.
Yes, the Orpingtons are the best! My girls are so affectionate and friendly. A flock is never complete without the Orps!
As for your new birds, since you didn't raise them, they will be shy of you for a while. Just make sure to move slowly around them. Don't try to pick them up for a while as this scares them. And go sit with them with a bag of goodies. Food is a great bonding agent for you and your flock. Sit down on their level toss some treats near to you. Let them come up as they will. Toss the treats closer each day until you have them eating out of your hand. Just be patient with them and they will come around soon.

Sad news... My Buff Orpington called Henrietta died and I cried lots. Vet and myself couldn't save her. Why is it always your favourite that gets taken. She was sooooo sweet and I loved stroking her and listening to her little hoots of contentment![]()
My flock looked a little empty with just two Orpingtons.
No one in Devon had any more so I now have two eleven month old gold laced Wynadottes.
They are fast but will they get tamer in time?
I Have to say that I LOVE ORPINGTONS.
Their personalities are amazing....
