I just joined BYC, and am quite impressed with the site. I have 10 chicks that are all between 2 and 3 weeks old. I found this site because one of my chicks is not doing so well, and I am hoping to get some advice on how to take care of it. Well thanks for reading this post, and have a great day. :)

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

So sorry about one of your chicks. What is wrong with her? At this age, cocci is common with chicks between the ages of 2 and 6 weeks of age. They become lethargic, they sit in the corner all fluffed up, they do not eat or drink, they can have diarrhea and many times there is blood in the stool. If these symptoms match your little chick, you need some Corid or Amprolium from the feed store. This will clear this up fast if you catch it fast enough. So not wait to long to get this medication if she has these symptoms.

You can also post this question in our emergency section for more help....

I hope your little baby recovers soon.

Good luck with your chick!

Thanks everyone! I actually was going to post her condition in the emergency section last night, but I was so tired that I couldn't get my thoughts straight or keep my eyes open. :) I was up most of the night with her, and fortunately none of the symptoms that TwoCrows mentioned fit her condition. I'm going to go over to the emergency section right now and post what's going on with her. Thanks again :)
