Hi y'all! We're in DFW, and fans not only of chickens but TCU.
We've got a year-old backyard flock that has had its ups and downs. My family raised chickens when I was growing up out in East Texas, and now that we have a little time and a little space, I'm passing the knowledge on to my DH and my kids. We're having fun eating eggs and watching chicks hatch, and learning lessons about predators and heat.
We've got an Ameraucana Roo(that was an accident & he seems impervious to all the other pitfalls that have hit our hens), a SLW hen, 5 banty hens, 2 pullets, 3 roos that are not long for this world, and 8 chicks of various ages. And one of our crazy banties just went broody again on 9 eggs.
Looking forward to jumping into things here!
