Great Job... One Mod I would suggest would be three hot wires around the bottom at like 4, 6, and 12 inches with a small solar controller and 3' ground rod. Mine are not as pretty as yours but they're inside an electronet enclosure. For my shelters outside the net, I use the three wires to deter critters. This is the only application where I HATE hardware cloth, just too hard to zip tie to the frame and one more layer of cost, time and effort.
Your kids are lovin life.... I have two poor cockerels in an 8x8 shelter on pasture that just got moved today. The girls who free range taunt them, but they must stay in jail as one of them will be my breeder next year. So #1 goal is keep them alive for a year in a predator rich environment.
Well its been a busy summer! Chickens are doing great, garden is going well, and I got my first egg today! I think ot was laid by Scout, she seems to be biggest of them. It was a fairy egg but Im excited non the less!
Well hello! Its been a while but Im still here! I have busy season with the garden the chickens, household chores and family life.
The girls did wonderful for the first time laying, around October the slowed and by the end of October they had stopped laying altogether. I was worried but after reading different things I was relieved to hear this was normal if you don.t provide artificial light.
Oldest son moved out in August and passed all his EMT classes, now he has practicals and national registry to go. Middle son is graduating HS next month a semester early and plans on working until he decides what to do. Youngest son is your standard freshman lol.
DW and I celebrated our 21st anniversary back in September and she has been into cross stitching heavily ever since. I have been battling my depression and anxiety and other PTSD symptoms along with everything else so I've been busy too.
