Well I could not find the roost last night, but if she comes back today well WILL get her!!

Well good news all, I got her! I chased her through the woods, around the coops, and finally convinced her to go back into the coop! Lots of treats were given to remind her that the coop is a safe space.

Hello all! Been a busy but fulfilling week this week. I'm doing well, DW is doing well and so is DS3. Patched up the coop this week, started getting eggs again too! Have a great weekend!

Well had to put a screen over the brooder to keep the chicks in! They are only two weeks old but are close to flying out already. lol

Hello all! Chicks are doing well, going on 4 weeks old, getting bigger and starting to feather out a little. They are eating more and drinking about half gallon a day.

Hello all! I am finally back after a series of life events that took me away. Sadly the last flock of chickens did not last more than a year. They were fine one night and mid afternoon the next day all nine were laying on the ground dead. I decided that with the dwindling number of people in our family home that I was going to take a break, we torn down the old coops and when I built the next one I will not havin in the same place. Also, I am not going to get my chicks from a store. I have family members that have chicks each spring and I am purchasing my chicks from them.
