Hello from east central Illinois

Hi to the board,

My wife Jena and I live in east central Illinois on 10 acres of wooded land. Yep, there's more than corn and beans here. We have to plow a 1/2 mile of private drive to get out in the winter.

Right now we only have 4 hens and a rooster, but we have 21 eggs in an incubator and we're thinking about buying 25 males for butchering. Our chickens are black and barred rock and we prefer white for eating.

This looks like a wonderful website and forum and we are looking forward to learning and sharing with you all.
