hello neighbor! I'm in edmonds too - still building our coop! I can't picture your chicks walking around the house - my cat would have mine for lunch and I'm not entirely sure what the dog would do.
 
From Mountlake Terrace...practically neighbors. We built a coop and got six chickens this year for the first time. I'd post pictures, but I'm still unable to. Welcome!
