My grandfather always had chickens when I was growing up so I thought it was time to pick up his hobby but on a much smaller scale. I have 5 little chicks ages from 1 week to 4 weeks. Ewok - Ameraucana, Coco - Cuckoo Maran, Hashbrown - Gold Sex Link, Omelette - Black Australorp and Elmo - Silver Laced Wyandotte. We have spent a lot of time with them handling them and hand feeding them so they are very content being on any part of your body that you will allow. Since we are in summer the older ones have spent a lot of time outside in a tractor I made for them. The li'l girls spend most of their time under the heat lamp. They are very entertaining to have around and we love to watch them go crazy for the soilder fly grubs out of our compost bin. I'm glad there is a website like this to answer all my questions that I've had up to this point.
