I've been reading here for about a week and a half and ya'll got me with the thread on "chicken math". After reading that one, I just HAD to join.
It's been many years since I've had chickens and am quite excited to be getting some hopefully tomorrow after work if the feed store is still open. I have a chicken coop that a friend built coming this weekend. I WAS going to built it myself, but I tend to over think stuff like that. I came in and looked at all of YOUR designs and loved them. Then my head started working overtime.
So I hired it out.
Anyhow, I'm getting a Rhode Island Red, an Americauna and a Barred Rock. All hens. I'm looking forward to the fresh eggs (I don't even remember how long THAT takes, lol) and the amazing compost I'll be getting from the chicken yard for the gardens.
Anyhow, I'm going to pull up a chair, pour a glass of an adult beverage and make myself comfortable in here.
