1. I first started with chickens in 2009; I incubated welsummer eggs from eggs purchased at a backyard swap I learned of here on BYC and purchased shipped Delaware Blue Hen eggs also advertised here on BYC.
2. I have 11 chickens presently; just egglayers and one bantam cockerel.
3. My breeds are New Hampshire, Barnvelder, Barred Plymouth Rock, Cream Legbar, and bantam Buff Brahma
4. I like my chickens because they're such easy keepers and they lay those yummy eggs, of course!
5. I love outdoorsy things: planting native plants and flowers, birdwatching, kayaking, etc.
6. I drive a school bus, have a beautiful husband, a dog, a cat, 2 cavies, 3 rabbits, and 17 pond goldfish.
7. I found BYC online about 10 years ago - much of what I know about chickens, I learned right here.
