Good luck with your breeding programs.
To breed EEs you will need a pure breed blue egg gene rooster, like an Ameraucana.
Why is that? So what you are saying is the roosters I have won't be able to breed? Also, I am reading that EE's have a rose comb, my roosters look just like the picture of the breed on the reviews page EXCEPT that they have a straight comb. Now I am really confused! haha

Of course your EE cockerels/roosters can breed. They just will not make first generation EEs themselves. All EEs are a 50/50 mix of a pure blue egg gene parent and a mix of a white or brown egg bird. The blue egg gene will always be dominant and results in either blue or green eggs from the EE offspring.

OK thanks for the clarification, but what about the straight comb, does that mean they are not EE's? Every time I think I have learned something new about chickens there is another curve ball that keeps me guessing and questioning! So what will my offspring (well the chickens offspring) be? Will the blue egg gene become diluted until they end up white or brown?
