(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am fairly new to chickens. I first got chickens a few years ago and am still learning about them.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I am down to two chickens, friends and family slowly chipped away at my flock. I didn't add any new ones as I have been waiting to downsize before acquiring bantams. Looking to start a flock with White Japanese Bantams or White Old English Game. Anyone know of anyone with Japanese or Old English Game Bantams in Florida?
(3) What breeds do you have?
Currently I have one leghorn and a small rhode island red.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
The chickens themselves are very interesting and wonderful personalities which make them wonderful to watch and interact with. We got into them for the pet qualities and the eggs they provide.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? & (6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We love to go to the beach and take our pet dogs for a walk whenever we can. Coming home to hear our rooster welcome us is quite the sound, he's the biggest watchdog in the place.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Through chicken questions on google. I finally joined now that I am looking to start my bantam flock. We are excited to start this journey.
