HI!!!!!!!! I have been reading this forum off and on and decided to join! Found you by searching for info on diy things such as feeders and waterers.

When I was a child my older sister raised bantys as pets. I always liked the hens and chicks, but the roosters would always attack me, so I really didn't like them too much! Still have that problem to this day! Even my neighbors tom came after me!! Is there something wrong with me that they don't like me? I'm never mean or cruel to animals.....

I have Rhode Island Reds, 2 hens and 1 rooster. The hens were given to me and the rooster came when one of the hens became broody and the lady from the feed store gave me three eggs for her to sit on. 2 chicks were eaten by snakes and I ended up with the only rooster! Now the other hen is broody and sitting on 3 of her own eggs and 3 from the neighbors flock. Hopefully I'll get hens out of this! My husband covered a large cage we borrowed from our neighbor with hardware wire hoping to keep the snakes out!

I have 4 children, 2 step children and 6 grandsons and 3 granddaughters. And of course I never see enough ot them! :) Do any of us???

I love gardening, knitting, crocheting, counted cross stitch, sewing and pretty much anything I can do with my hands!

I have been a school bus driver for 10 years and have loved each and every one of the kids on my bus, actually treated them as my own! Have wanted to strangle a few, but never did!!! :) I had to go on medical leave just this year as I found out a have a tendency to faint and my doctor and cardiologist are trying to figure out what, if anything, they can do to help me. I do so miss my students!

So, I'm here to learn, laugh and maybe even teach?! Ya'll have a wonderful day!!!!!!

Oh, yes, I have 2 horses..........forgot to tell you! A beautiful quarter horse gelding and a gorgeous mix Tennessee walker.

I guess you can't hide a super soaker in your pocket but if you can get some kind of squirt gun, you can give any roosters ,harboring thoughts of attacking you, a good blast to the face.

Or try one of those air horn deals from Dollar store. Stop them in their tracks so they think *** was THAT!!! Too many good roos around, many of them free to good homes(not the soup pot) there is no reason to keep an aggressive one. They can inflict serious damage to people especially young children who are lower to the ground and unlikely to fend them off.
