As many before me I like to express my thanks to the site owners and members. It is great to find a resource such as BYC to help us understand our latest "I want that".
We started this year with 9 day old chickens. 3 Buff Orpingtons, 3 Speckled Sussex, and 3 Austrolorps.
They all developed fine and now are looking forward to their first winter.
My goal is to ensure their successful overwintering.
Never having dealt with chickens before other than for lunch and dinner, it was a surprising journey so far to encounter
their distinct personalities. If anyone would have told me 6 month ago that i could tell each of them apart from the other I would have laughed - but now I can.

Looking forward to more exiting chicken adventures.

Welcome to BYC from snowy Montana. Glad you decided to join our flock. If you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. There is lots of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.

Welcome from cold & icy Illinois.Hope you enjoy Backyard chickens as much as we do.
