Thank you guys for more warm welcomes from different parts of the U.S. It's kind of fun to have on-line chicken pen pals from all around. Thanks also for the advice. I'm pretty sure we are not going to hatch very many chickies next year, unless we do a great job selling all of the ones from this year. 4H is starting up soon and my husband is going to talk to the leader to organize some kind of swap and sale here between all the livestock clubs. They have a master garderners sale every couple of months at the 4H office/grounds so it would be the perfect place for one (just not on their Saturday). We'll see what pans out, but hey, at least it's a plan !
Thanks for the compliment on my avatar ! This splash silkie chickie I named Fluffy Hat (I like that you can see it's eyes). We had one with a vaulted skull and now you can't even see her eyes (so much fluff). (I wonder how she sees ?)
Do you mind if I add it to my collection on my website ? - I made a fun animation page for kids to see animated graphics of chickens, goats, fish..... (you might like it - check it out...it's under the far right link "more..." )
Hey, SpeckledHen ! That's too funny that most of your neighbors are from Ft. Pierce, FL ! We're such a small town.
Just out of curiosity, do you have a neighbor with the last name Camp ? We know some people that moved to GA (I forget where exactly) to live closer to their good friends.
