Welcome to backyard Chickens!

You are living the ups and downs of Farm life for sure. Mostly Up though!
Lovely flock you have!

Don't be surprised if more Guineas than expected show back up
I just went out to feed everyone and all 8 were in the yard, so that makes a total of 9 because I was able to get only 1 in last night. So, I'm now a happy girl!!!

Oh good news!!! I went out about an hour ago and they were all in the backyard!!! They will NOT be going out for some time. I worried all night about their safety. I guess I should have taken pics of them.

Yes, I'm excited to find a place where I can post pics and receive useful information at the same time.

Thank you!

Excellent news! :clap

I thought that would happen!

Guineas in a tree are fairly safe. You don't want them out there all the time though. Raccoons can climb fairly well and if they are motivated enough will go after them

I was just so worried that an owl or possibly a raccoon would climb and get them. They are not the smartest birds added to that, we live very close to the Flint River. Think it might have been too cold for predators last night. Just glad all are safe and in the kennel tonight! :)

From all I have read on BYC Guineas do their own thing, and seem to perplex their owners as much as they can. That must be part of their charm . :welcome
They certainly do their own thing. Had all 8 in and still couldn't figure out how to get the last one in. I walked around and around the kennel for about 15 minutes at least until I was able to keep the last one in...I think the snow here in Georgia has thrown them off! They've never behaved this way before, but they've never been exposed to snow before either...but all are in and everyone is safe tonight!
