Hello from Hawaii!

Just getting started with chickens, finally wore my husband down. (our HOA says no chickens so we will be keeping them on the down low) plan on getting two chicks (our max per city rules) in the next couple of weeks when the feed stores get some shipments in.
I am super excited and have spent WAY too many hours reading the forums over the past week! We plan on starting our small coop this weekend... Chickens have about 400 sq. ft. to free range in the yard, I am looking forward to a reduction in roaches and centipedes (the joys of Hawaii!)

You get Hawaii, we get ice, snow, bitter wind chills. Sigh, I just have to learn to live with it. Make sure your two babies are female. The jig is up if one starts crowing. Many people have stealth chickens. You just need a plan b, if you get caught.
