I am so excited to have just now officially joined BYC, even though I've been scouring this amazing website for months, learning as much as I can. Over the weekend, I finally procured my first chicks: two Barred Rocks and two Rhode Island Reds. They are two weeks and two days old and are super cute. I've only had them for three days and already they are eating from my hand. I've noticed that the Rocks are noticeably more adventurous than the others... in fact, one of the Reds seems so shy that I feel really badly for her as she is often pushed out of the way of the treats that I give them, so I'm not sure if there's anyway to encourage her to be more assertive.
Anyway, I am so grateful to this website and to all of the knowledgeable members who share their experience and wisdom so openly with everyone.
