(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Over 5 years. My hubby and I have had hens since we were in college and just dating - our hen rearing experience is almost as long as our relationship!

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Just got back up to six total after adding four 8-month-old pullets. At most we've had nine girls.

(3) What breeds do you have?
Currently 2 Barred rock (love love love them), 2 Buckeye (new breed for us!), and 2 Bantam cochins (with the feather spats on their feet, so cute and SO LOUD). Previously we've had silver-laced Wyandottes, an Americauna, Red Sex Links, maybe some others I can't remember.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Years ago when doing research about our first batch of chickens.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Outdoor adventure sports. Kayaking, backcountry skiing, climbing, backpacking, mt biking, etc. And of course chicken keeping, yard work and gardening.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
It's just us and the hens. I'm an RN and my hubby is an engineer.
