Hello from Ill

Hello, my name is Char and live in Central Ill with 2 kid, 1 Husband, 40+ chickens, 4 Geese, 6 Ducks( 2 rouen, 2 caugua, 2 baby call ducks), 3 turkeys, 2 dogs, 2 rabbits, 2 cockatiels, 1 guinea fowel. Hmm I think that is everyone, can you guess who is in the house and who isn't just for fun? Just about everyone is tame enough to hold and cuddle with their are a few cranky teens in the mix. We started this adventure a year ago. My husband raised chickens when he was growing up and asked if we could get some. The first thing he said is " These are FARM ANIMALS, they arent pets, you can't play with them and they won't want you to hold the." My response is WANNA MAKE A BET, since I am in school for Social work I know that almost anything can become normal if introduced early. So it is normal for our flock. Of course I got a few others then just chickens. This year we dug a pond and put a skippy filter system that is working well. We have learned much from trial and error and me reading what everyone here writes.
