Hi! I'm new to this site (obviously lol) and we are not chicken farmers or anything, but we recently acquired 10 colored chicks. 2 green, 2 blue, 2 pink and 4 orange. After about a month, we realized there were too many chicks and not enough of us! We kept the two green ones and the other eight are happily living in the country with my in-laws. Needless to say, now these two greens (only their heads now) are extremely spoiled. My husband says I'm nuts lol But I am glad to see there are other people who love their chickens! They are very entertaining and I truly think they don't know they're actually chickens. They follow us everywhere, clean our "feathers" and purr like cats (? What does that mean, exactly... That's a new one to me) all in all I've never enjoyed a pet so much! They are hilarious

sounds like your chicks have accepted you as their flock, that's why they are preening you and purring (sign of contentment). Hope they don't go offering you a worm or two.
