Hello everyone. Been coming to this forum for quite awhile. Got interested in having chickens back in the late spring and found the forum and came back for information throughout the process of building the coop and run area as well as for determining the type of chicks to get and where to get them from. I decided that Rhode Island Reds and Barred Plymouth Rock would be the correct breed and ordered chicks. I have 5 of each breed and both have turned into beautiful young ladies with many laying everyday.Thought it was time to join and try to give a little back. Appreciate the great forum with all the helpful folks.

Mark-sounds like your off to a good start! Barred rocks were my first chickens as well-sweet personality!! I haven;t owned RIRs (yet)!!
