I have used this site more times than I can count for reference. It took a horrible experience with the extreme heat (4 hens dead) and a need to tell someone else I understood what they are feeling to join, but here I am.

Welcome to BYC. Sorry you lost 4 birds to the heat. Perhaps fans in the pens and coops will help circulate air. Chilled watermelon helps as well.

Sorry to hear you lost some birds
The heat can be a tough one, something we have to deal with regularly here. Watermelon, ice in the water, some people even sprinkle their chickens with water to keep them cool, or have a fan in the coop.

Anyway, glad to have you here and I hope you find everything you need.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes. Happy to say I haven't lost anymore chickens due to the heat. I moved the coop and put a fan in there that has been running 24/7.
I haven't been getting any eggs, my guess is that is because of the heat too. Glad to be here!!!!
