Hello we are the Rudolphs and we are brand new to raising chickens.
I found this website when trying to find out what breed of chickens we have and what sex they are.
We have 5 chickens. My mom had an incubator in her science classroom so we agreed to take the chickens.
Obviously we are very new to all of this and don't know a whole lot but are anxious to learn.
My husband is a boat mechanic and I'm a stay at home mom but will be returning to the classroom in August. We have twin 4.5 year old daughters who are in love with the chickens.
We just finished building our chicken coop today, the chickens are so happy to have a ton of space now. They are 7 weeks old right now.

Hello and :welcome

Glad to have you here! It's great that your kids get the experience to keep chickens when they're so young :thumbsup
Don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have, and enjoy the site. :D

Hello from someone a bit north of you...Jefferson City.

I'm new to BYC too. I lurked for a while but after school got out (I work in a school), I officially joined and I've spent days doing little else but reading forums, and learning about chickens. I have actually thought about buying an incubator and trying to hatch eggs next year in the classroom. (Some of the potential problems I've already thought of: How do you handle nights/weekends? Take the incubator home? etc. got plenty of time to figure it out).

I see you already found the Missourian's thread. :) Welcome.
