Hi there! I too live in Lancaster (in town) and have 12 chickens currently. YES! it is legal to have livestock within city limits as long as they are kept 50 feet from your neighbors house. I looked up the city codes and that is what I understand. I even have a rooster, and my neighbors love him even though he crows ALL the time!

Hello, I also live in Lancaster. I just got my first chicks (6 red sex links from Tractor Supply) 4 days ago. Loving them so far. There is one who is super friendly and likes to sit on my 5 year old's shoulder. He named her Chickadee. My coop is still in the making.
 
Welcome i too live in lancaster. This is my first year at raising chickens. My coop is still in progress. Can't wait. I know i have a lot to learn, but am willing.
 
My coop is finally done thanks to my husband spending his days off for the past month out in the cold working on it. (Would have been done a lot sooner, some spring we're having...lol) Haven't started the run yet, but maybe in another couple weeks it will be done. At least the chickies have more space in the coop than in the brooder box. I may let them roam the yard for a little bit when it warms up. Right now the heat lamp is on in the coop.
