Hello from Las Cruces, NM!!!

Hello everyone, I live in Las Cruces NM. I haven't raised chickens in years but I'm moving out to a nice little 2 acre patch of land where I'm gonna be starting a little flock this spring. I Interested In Rare Heritage Breeds Of chickens. I'm especially interested in turkeys right now because I've never raised them before and I think I've decided on Narragansett turkeys, French copper black marans light brown leghorns amd some blue or black silkies to help me raise chicks. Wish me luck!

Sounds like some good choices, and beware you may fall under the charms of silkies and regard them as much more than broodies.

Oh I Love Silkies, they've always been my favorite breed. I had a small black one that played the part of a blind seeing eye chicken for a turkey I had for a short while who was blind. The turkey would listen for where the silkie was pecking and was able to find food.
