Thanks guys, I'm sure I will have lots of questions as things progress. An old friend from high school wrote a book on back yard chickens for dummies that my son, who is 8, has been reading to us at bedtime. So far it has given us a great foundation. We have four girls in the living room, three of them are Ameraucanas named Chirp, Peep, and Scramble. Those three are my wife and son's chicks and I have a Plymouth Rock named Florentine. My wife was very adamant about having colored eggs. LOL It's been a fun few weeks so far, I can't wait to get them in their coop. We plan to allow them to free range in the afternoons when we are home and coop them at night. Still not sure about how to train them for that, but we will figure it out. Thanks again for access to the wealth of information.
