Good morning everyone!
I'm so happy to be here! I am about to embark on being a chicken momma! My lovely neighbors are giving me a large shed to convert into a coop. We will be moving it into place soon.
I have all my brooding supplies ready and am about to order my chicks.

It's still cold here in Maine. I'm hoping for warmer weather soon so I can start getting the coop ready.
We live on a 40 acre farm. 3 little dogs, 3 horses.

In case you're wondering about my name "bullriderswife"? Yes, my husband used to ride bulls, but doesn't anymore. He is in reserve military and is deployed at the moment. I will be building and renovating the coop myself! Although I might need help from my sons? lol

I look forward to getting to know you and learning from your wisdom!

Welcome to BYC. Bullriding is a good sport/occupation to be retired from. Those guys are a different breed, and it's not 'if' they will get hurt but 'when'. Good luck in establishing and maintaining your flock. Involvement of your sons will be a good thing.

So true. He has had many injuries along the way! Now he's off in a hostile zone, the man is giving me gray hairs! lol

Wow bullriderswife that's an impressive sized farm. You have me drooling about that type of acreage. :drool Your husband sounds like a brave man that loves to put grey hairs on your head! Welcome to the BYC! If you have any questions along the way, please don't hesitate to ask. There are tons of people with tons of experience and knowledge and are very willing to share. It's what makes this place a great place to be!:frow

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Have fun designing and building your new coop out of that old shed. I'm anxiously awaiting the end of this too long winter to get moving on my shed to coop conversion. I have 16 chicks coming in April!

I am so ready for warmer weather! Sounds like we're both anxious to get building! I have 20 chicks coming. so exciting!

Thanks so much! We bought this farm about 6 years ago.
