Native gardeners in the southeastern US

Here's the north side, as viewed from the backyard.

It gets some shade in the afternoon as there's a fig tree just to the right.

I need to plant some beauty berry!!!! It’s beautiful and beneficial for wildlife. I did seed Joe Pye weed but it’s too early to come up if any of the seeds even took. I’ll sure post pics once stuff gets growing. Did you make your stepping stones??
And bonus, beautyberry berries can be used to make jams, syrups and kombucha.

Super excited to find this thread. I am committed to planting natives on my property. I make an exception for food plants, but also incorporate as many native food plants as possible - so far black walnut, pecan, persimmon, plums, paw paws, mulberry, blackberry, blueberry, gooseberry, beautyberry, chokeberry, sun chokes, and maypops. There might be others I’m just not remembering.

Pink painted trillium, native ginger still tiny but also just planted from bare root last month

Will update as there is some progress. Right now it’s all just little bits of green and a few buds.
The established old and new dogwood are flowering and the native columbines in the front are going strong
