Question: Our coop isn't insulated so WHY not add heat for winter?? Wouldn't the birds be more comfortable with a temp above freezing?
 
birds aclamate better to the weather without heat. One concern is what happens when the power goes out. Birds accustomed to heat do very poorly if it is suddenly unavailable.

Personally, for me, I do not add heat cause in general, Texas does not get below freezing (at least, in the past....last year was really cold, and this year is supposed to be the same
