Maryland's Eastern Shore
Hello All!

I am brand new to chickens, though I've been wanting to have my own flock for years. We finally took the plunge and now have 6 baby production reds! Our coop is almost ready although the chicks won't be for another few weeks. We live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland with our three children, one golden retriever (my best bud) and now our little flock! I've been reading so much awesome information on this site, I just had to join. We are all looking forward to this new chicken adventure, any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks everyone for the "welcomes", my retriever really would love to "play" with my chicks but I think as they grow, he will probably be afraid of them, he's scared to death of ducks and geese at the pond (great hunting dog). We'll see what he does but I think our coop is suffiencently predator proof for him. It will be an adjustment for all of us but we are looking forward to it!
